Files whose names start with a dot, including .htaccess, are hidden by default in some File Manager views.
Before you begin
Log in to the secure Gigatech client area at https://portal.gigatech.nl, open the relevant hosting service, and use the cPanel login action. cPanel labels can differ slightly by theme, version, and hosting configuration.
Steps
- Open cPanel and select File Manager.
- Click Settings in the upper-right area.
- Enable Show Hidden Files (dotfiles).
- Save the setting.
- Return to the website directory and confirm that files such as .htaccess are visible.
Important notes
- Dotfiles often control security, redirects, and application behavior. Make a backup before editing them.
