The Disk Usage interface shows which directories consume storage in the hosting account.

Before you begin

Log in to the secure Gigatech client area at https://portal.gigatech.nl, open the relevant hosting service, and use the cPanel login action. cPanel labels can differ slightly by theme, version, and hosting configuration.

Steps

  1. Open cPanel and select Disk Usage.
  2. Review the total usage and the directory list.
  3. Expand directories or open File Manager to investigate large paths.
  4. Check website files, backups, logs, cache directories, mail, and temporary files.
  5. Download anything that must be retained before removing it.
  6. Empty application trash or cache through the application itself when possible.
  7. Recheck usage after cleanup; the displayed total may take time to update.

Important notes

  • Do not delete unknown system directories or application files simply because they are large.
  • Mailbox data and local backups are frequent causes of unexpected disk usage.
